Day 30-The Black & White Stripes, Polka Dots & Mixing Prints

Happy Monday loveleigh's! There is something so simple and chic about black and white. I love adding a pop of white to an all black outfit-it's just as good as adding a pop of color :) With these accessories, you can do just that while also adding pattern! So fun! :) Don't be afraid to mix and match patterns. The key is to not go overboard when adding and/or mixing patterns. Throw on a pair of jeans, a solid t-shirt, the polka dot scarf and striped earrings below and some black boots and you have a simple, effortless and fun outfit!

Here are a couple outfits I pinned or re-pinned on Pinterest. These are both great examples of mixing prints. The first mixes a striped shirt and leopard flats. The jacket really pulls these 2 pieces together and makes them mesh well! The 2nd mixes a striped scarf and floral shirt. The common red and white in both make these look so cute together!

This was some vintage jewelry that was my Grandma's - it was my "something old" at my wedding:)

This is my bff and I at a wedding - I'm wearing a black necklace that matches the bracelets and earrings below :)

My Dad is coming over within the next couple of days and is going to help us re-do our closet!!! I'm SOO EXCITED!!! More to come on that:)

Day 27-Floral Friday

Happy Friday loveleigh's! We have had an unusual, unseasonably warm winter this year - there have been quite a few days that have felt like early Spring! Spring is my 2nd favorite season (I'm a fall girl through and through) and normally I feel it never lasts long enough. However, I think this year will be different!! Though, since it is still January, I'm not quite ready to go into full Spring fashion mode just yet. That's why these earrings are perfect :) Of course I can wear them anytime of the year (and I do), but most people, including myself, associate flowers/floral with Spring. They are a perfect way to add a pop of color and a spring-y element to an outfit :)

Chunky Red Buddha Necklace

Mixed Metal Multi Chain

I found this chunky, mixed metal necklace at Target on clearance for under $5.00. I love the mixture of metals this has - gold, silver, rose gold/copper, gunmetal and a strand of diamonds (obviously they are not real diamonds) :) The length is perfect and you can wear it with absolutely everything!

While I'm not a fan of the buddha head on the Jodi Henri one (no offense to Jodi Henri!), I like the concept of adding something unexpected and offcentered. I could easily do that with this necklace by adding a bow or flower! This would not only add more dimension and perhaps color, it also mixes the elements of soft and girly (flowers or bows) with something more edgy (the metals). This is a fun, easy and inexpensive way to expand your accessory wardrobe!

I don't wear it very often, mainly only for special occassions....like the ones below :)

I'm going back....way back to senior year of high school! I wore this set to my graduation banquet at church and to my senior prom! Here is a pic of my friend Andrea and I (with the necklace) at the grad banquet :)

My bff from high school had a bracelet in this same vintage crystal. When I saw it I told her I had a necklace that matched perfectly and she wore it on her wedding day a few years ago! :)

I was a bridesmaid in my sis-in-law's wedding almost 3 years ago and wore the bracelet with my yellow bridesmaid dress. Here are a couple pics of my hubby and I from the reception :)

Day 24-It's a Tiffany Tuesday

Hello loveleigh's!! Today I'm posting some of my fav accessories-my Tiffany's set (oh, don't you just love that little blue box?!) My wonderful husband got me each of these on different anniversaries so it was fun to build my set over a period of time. Like pearls, cameos and diamonds these are classic and I can keep them forever! While the prices at Tiffany's certainly aren't Forever 21, a lot of their silver jewelry isn't outrageously priced either. I promise, you can't go wrong with something from Tiffany's! (and their prices go up...which means the longer you have it the more it's worth!) :)  If you don't own anything from Tiffany's, I would definitely recommend someday adding something from there to your accessory wardrobe! Whether you save for it yourself or get it as a present (hello birthday, anniversary, Valentine's Day, Christmas), I promise it will be one of your favorite accessories! It's classic. It's iconic. It's timeless....and you can wear it with everything! I love pretty much anything from the Return to Tiffany's collection so, in my opinion (it is MY blog after all!), if you are looking to get your own iconic little blue box with a piece of timeless fashion inside, I would start with something in that collection. You can buy 1 thing or you can build a set over time - whatever suits you! There are still some earrings that I would like to get eventually to complete my set :)

Day 22 & 23-Cameos and Pearls

Hello loveleigh's! Today is another double post day since I didn't post yesterday! That's okay though because the 2 accessories go well together :)

Cameos, as well as pearls, are both classic. They will never go out of style and are something you can wear no matter if you are 15, 50, 105 or anywhere in between :)

These cameo's had been my Grandma's or my mom's. This first pink, gold and white cameo simply fastens onto a necklace...like the pearl necklace you see here.

I attached this "charm" cameo (the other side is a timepiece!) to an inexpensive (dollar aisle at Target!) pearl necklace. Who knew dollar pearls could be so cute!! Love it!

This black and white cameo is a pin. It can be worn as a pin or attached to a piece of jewelry like I did with this pearl bracelet. I'm thinking of "butterflying" (repurposing) this by removing the pin part and permanently attaching it to this bracelet or perhaps a ring....we'll see :)

I love pearls! There is something so simple, elegant and timeless about them. You can never go wrong with a little black dress and pearls!!

I had mentioned in this previous post that I have received freebies from Helzberg's! Throughout the last couple of years they have sent me cards in the mail or emails with a freebie on it. Some were for my birthday (sign up for their emails and you can get a freebie on your birthday too!) and others were just throughout the year. All I had to do was take the card or email into the store to pick up the item. I have acquired 4 pairs of pearl studs, pearl stack bracelets and 3 "I am Loved" charm bracelets. Since I have 3 of the same charm bracelet, I simply hooked 2 of them together and made it into a necklace..now I have a matching set :) Not bad for FREE jewelry! After adding these to pearls I already owned, I think I'm set on pearls!

I think every woman should own some pearls - whether they are real, expensive pearls or inexpensive ones, they are a perfect addition to every accessory wardrobe!
